IFSWas? Wer sich nicht gerade im Studium befindet (und selbst hier ist es keine Gegebenheit), der*die wird sich an manchner Stelle sicherlich einmal fragen, für was dieses Kürzel steht. Soziale Arbeit wird oft noch in nationalen Ländergrenzen gedacht, doch gerade die Entwicklungen und Geschehnisse der letzten Jahre verdeutlichen, dass Soziale Arbeit auch über Ländergrenzen hinweg und global als Profession zu betrachten ist und agiert. Dies geschieht nicht im luftleeren Raum, denn wenn eines deutlich ist, dann ist es die Tatsache, dass im Zusammenschluss mehr wirklich gemacht werden kann. Global ist daher die International Federation of Social Work (eben die IFSW) ein wichtiger Netzwerkzusammenschluss für die Profession Sozialer Arbeit - und das wollen wir uns in dieser Veranstaltung genauer anschauen. Was macht der IFSW? Welche aktuellen Themen, Regionen und Arbeitspunkte befinden sich gerade auf der globalen Agenda? Was heißt internationales netzwerken in der Sozialen Arbeit und welchen Mehrwert hat es und welche Hürden tun sich auf? Gehen wir zusammen mit Vertreter*innen der Federation ins Gespräch.

IFSWhat? If you are not currently studying (and even here it is not a given), some will certainly ask themselves at some point what this abbreviation stands for. Social work is often still thought of in terms of national borders, but the developments and events of recent years make it more than clear that social work is to be regarded and should act as a global profession and across national borders. Fortunately, this is not happening in a vacuum, because if one thing is clear, it is that more can really be done when coming together. The International Federation of Social Work (the IFSW) is therefore an important global network for the profession of social work - and we want to take a closer look at it with this event. What does the IFSW do? Which topics, regions and working points are currently on the global agenda? What does international networking mean in social work and what is the added value and what are the hurdles? Let's open up the conversation, together with representatives of the Federation.
